The Prairie Rock & Gem Society is a Regina, Saskatchewan based club organization devoted to the lapidary arts. This includes the collection, polishing, cutting and finishing of gem and stone materials into various objects of desire.
The Society has been around for over 50 years yet did not have a website when we undertook the project. With an eye to the popular green and yellow colour theme throughout Saskatchewan we worked on a design that would give the club the ability to control and manipulate the website with direct member involvement.
Joomla was selected as the CMS of choice with the flexibility and expansion available as well as the ability to have a membership, social networking platform from day one. We installed Community Builder which allows the members to interact with each other and the site.
