Owner of Farmgate Food, Mark Lane, had explained the eco nature of his business and the objective to supply local food and thereby reduce the carbon emmissions being created by his customers. He mentioned that he liked round logos, which works well for an ecologically minded company as it draws many instantaneous parallels between the earth and the circle of life. The other consideration was the need to output inexpensive labels and promotional materials.

Using a farm motif and a monochromatic green colour we created a round logo using silhouettes of a barn and animals. The initial objectives were met with the design while establishing a very easily recognizable branding tool for the company.
